5G核心網如何追蹤UE狀態、身分與存取權限?

在5G網路中,行動性管理不只是追蹤手機從一個基地台小區移動到另一個小區。它是一套控制邏輯,用來告訴5G核心網:UE是否已註冊、是否可被尋呼、是否處於連線或閒置狀態、是否獲准使用服務,以及是否受到位置或訂閱政策限制。缺少這一層,網路就無法判斷何時應保留使用者上下文、何時釋放信令資源、何時尋呼裝置,以及在註冊和安全程序中應使用哪一種身分識別資訊。

5G核心網透過AMF、NAS信令、UE上下文、臨時識別碼、隱藏式訂閱識別碼及行動性限制規則來管理裝置移動。UE可能在早上開機並向網路註冊,之後長時間保持閒置,需要資料服務時再恢復連線,並在一天內跨越多個追蹤區域。網路必須支援這些行為,同時保護無線介面資源、N2信令資源與使用者隱私。

註冊狀態決定網路可達性

註冊管理用來描述UE是否已向5G核心網完成註冊。兩個主要狀態是RM-DEREGISTEREDRM-REGISTERED。在未註冊狀態下,UE尚未註冊到核心網路。AMF不知道UE所在位置,不會為其保留可用的UE上下文,也不能將該裝置視為可達。

UE成功完成註冊後,便會進入已註冊狀態。此時,UE可存取5GC服務,而AMF也取得足夠資訊,可依所需精度掌握使用者位置並維護UE上下文。這不代表UE一定正在主動傳送使用者資料,只表示UE與核心網路之間已建立有效關係。

狀態轉換相當清楚。剛開機的裝置會從未註冊狀態開始。如果註冊程序獲得接受,UE就會進入已註冊狀態。若註冊遭拒,或網路主動發起取消註冊,UE便會維持或返回未註冊狀態。這套狀態模型在概念上與4G EMM的已註冊和未註冊邏輯相似,但由5G核心網架構負責處理。

連線狀態有助於節省資源

連線管理用來說明UE目前是否與網路保持有效的信令關係。兩個主要狀態是CM-IDLECM-CONNECTED。在閒置狀態下,UE不會透過N2信令保持主動連線,AMF也不需要維持連線運作時所需的同等主動連線資源。

在已連線狀態下,AMF可更精確地掌握UE位置,UE也能透過已建立的連線存取5GC服務。網路亦可建立或維護服務處理所需的UE上下文。當UE沒有主動服務需求時,網路可釋放N2連線資源,讓UE回到閒置運作狀態。

這種設計可維持網路效率。如果所有已註冊UE整天都保持完整連線,無線資源、N2信令及使用者平面準備資源都會被浪費。更合理的作法是保留UE的註冊狀態,但在不需要時釋放主動連線資源。當使用者之後開始瀏覽網頁、串流播放、通話或使用應用程式時,UE可以觸發服務請求或相關程序,再次回到連線狀態。

可以用飯店入住作為實際類比。註冊就像辦理入住並建立房客資料;連線則像實際使用客房內的燈光、空調或電梯等資源。即使暫時沒有使用這些資源,房客仍維持入住狀態。同樣地,UE可以持續保持註冊,同時釋放主動連線來節省資源。

UE上下文保存關鍵資料

UE上下文是UE完成註冊後由AMF保存的資訊。它提供網路管理存取、安全、位置、訂閱限制與行動性行為所需的運作資料。這個上下文不是單一欄位,而是由識別碼、能力資訊、位置資訊及政策相關參數所組成。

重要的UE上下文項目包括SUPIPEIGPSI、訂閱的UE-AMBR、5GMM能力、所選PCF資訊、禁止區域清單、服務區域限制及行動性管理上下文。MM上下文還可能包含存取類型、NAS安全模式、UE安全能力、允許的NSSAI、最後註冊TAI、RM狀態、註冊區域與目前使用者位置資訊。

這些欄位可協助網路回答多項運作問題:訂閱者是誰?使用的是哪一種設備?涉及哪種存取類型?支援哪些安全演算法?UE可以存取哪些網路切片?上次在哪裡註冊?哪些區域允許或受限?這些答案會影響註冊處理、服務存取、尋呼、行動性更新及政策控制。

識別碼可保護使用者隱私

5G行動性管理高度依賴身分識別設計。網路必須識別訂閱者與設備,但應盡量避免在無線介面上暴露永久識別碼。因此,5G會依不同用途使用多種相互關聯的識別碼。

SUPI是永久訂閱識別碼,最常見的形式是IMSI;另一種形式則可在非3GPP存取中使用NAI。PEI用來識別設備,通常與IMEI或IMEISV相關。GPSI是公開訂閱識別碼,常以MSISDN表示,也可以使用username@realm等外部識別碼格式。

臨時身分可降低永久資訊暴露的風險。5G-GUTI是由AMF指派、全球唯一的臨時身分,由與AMF相關的識別碼GUAMI和5G-TMSI組成。5G-S-TMSI是5G-GUTI的一部分,用於尋呼。這項區分非常重要,因為尋呼過程不應暴露訂閱者的永久身分。

SUCI對5G安全尤其重要。它是透過加密SUPI相關資訊所產生的隱藏式訂閱識別碼。在4G中,某些身分識別程序可能取得IMSI,因而在無線介面上造成隱私風險。在5G中,註冊時若可使用5G-GUTI,就應優先使用;若沒有5G-GUTI,則改用SUCI。明文IMSI不應作為註冊身分。

SUCI採用非對稱加密建立。UE會使用儲存在USIM中或裝置可取得的公開金鑰來隱藏訂閱身分。隱藏後的識別碼會經由接取網路與核心網路傳送至歸屬網路,再由私密金鑰還原SUPI。即使部分身分資訊已被隱藏,路由指示碼仍可協助核心網路將信令訊息路由到正確的歸屬網路功能。

限制規則控制服務區域

行動性管理也包含各類限制。並非每個UE都能使用所有無線技術、所有追蹤區域或所有服務區域。5G核心網會利用行動性限制規則,控制UE可在何處以及以何種方式使用網路服務。

註冊區域是分配給UE的一組追蹤區域。在此範圍內,服務不受限制,UE也不必因每次小幅移動而更新註冊。RAT限制來自訂閱資料,可阻止UE使用特定無線接取技術,例如5G。禁止區域則是該UE不得存取5G服務的一組區域。

服務區域限制可定義允許區域與不允許區域。在允許區域內,UE可存取5G服務;在不允許區域內,服務存取會依政策遭到封鎖或限制。這些限制可用於訂閱控制、漫遊控制、私人網路規劃、服務分區及法規要求。

註冊管理、連線管理、UE上下文、安全識別碼與行動性限制共同構成5G核心網的行動性基礎。其目的不只是知道裝置位於何處,更重要的是在需要時保持裝置可達、在閒置時節省網路資源、保護身分隱私,並依訂閱內容與所在位置執行存取規則。
